Kara Lam

Kara Lam has been involved in the dance industry for over 20 years. Her formal training began in Dayton, OH and consists of various genres of dance. Kara’s background also includes several years of competitive dance where she won many state, regional, and national titles with her teams and as a soloist. While obtaining her Bachelor of Science in graphic communication design, she took dance courses at the University of Cincinnati's CCM, served as an adjudicator for AmeriDance, and began teaching at multiple studios in the Cincinnati area. 

During her time as a dance instructor, Kara choreographed dozens of youth recreational pieces and award-winning competitive routines, as well as assisted with a yearly production of the Nutcracker ballet. She also traveled across the country to attend dance conventions and learn from well-known teachers and choreographers, including the Dance Teacher Web conference in Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, Kara became a certified Acro-Dance instructor through Acrobatic Arts. 

After teaching and choreographing for eight years, Kara is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue her passion for dance while pursuing her full-time career as a User Experience Designer. She is so excited to be a member of Cultivate Dance Project her fourth season!
